The time it takes to install a new sprinkler system can vary depending on the size of your property and the complexity of the system. On average, most standard size lawns take between 5-7 days from start to finish.
When determining number of zones we have to factor in many different variables. You usually don't want to have zones that have different sun exposure, different grades, different plant material, or different water needs. Other factors to consider are zone run time, watering capacity, and application rate (how long it takes to apply the proper amount of water). What type of head is in each zone is also an important factor, you should not have standard spray heads in the same zone as rotors or rotary nozzles due to the application rate of each type of head. Be aware many contractors will install too many heads in a zone and have to use smaller size nozzles or use one size nozzle for every sprinkler radius. This is practice leads to unsustainable watering practices like insufficient coverage, improper application rates, and a system that cannot handle drought conditions.
After factoring all the above conditions our team can determine the exact number of zones your system needs and explain to you why your system has that number of zones. We have found that the average 15,000sq ft lot typically has between 7-10 zones.
System costs vary greatly based on size of landscape, area to be covered, and soil conditions. However our systems typically run between $2000-$2500 per zone. So the average 15,000 sq ft lot runs $14,000-$20,000 based on system needs.
Some disruption is unavoidable but our team of skilled technicians work very hard to minimize damage to your lawn and landscape. We utilize a vibratory plow to install most pipe which pulls the pipe through the ground leaving only a slit in the lawn where the blade went. When possible we reduce disruption when hand digging by placing tarps, cutting out sod, or using buckets for a cleaner look upon completion. Usually within 1-3 weeks after your installation it is difficult to tell we were even there other than a greener healthier landscape
We do not just do lawns! We do residential lawns and landscapes, gardens, commercial lawns and landscape. and even some small scale hobby farm irrigation. We specialize in projects that are higher end and more complex than standard installations. We have done memory gardens, multi acre properties, hops farms, and city buildings. Our list of projects is continually growing!
